(PLATTSBURGH, NY - Monday August 1st, 2022) - The launch of the new Parks Come Alive! event series has been met with a positive reception this summer by the Plattsburgh community, with over 500 people attending last month’s event in Penfield Park. The City will be hosting its third and final event this Thursday August 4th from 4:30-7:30PM at South Acres Park located on 23 Flynn Avenue.
Similarly structured to the last two events, South Acres Parks will be hosting The Dog Father, Mr. Ding a Ling, Tammy’s Lunch Box and Gus’s Red Hots food trucks. Valcour Brewing Company will be serving beer in a beer garden (21+) and local musician Josh West will be providing music for the event. Thanks to a generous donation from Fidelis Care, a limited number of food tickets will be available at the start of the event to redeem for free food and treats at the food trucks.
We are excited to be hosting over fifteen community organizations that will be providing fun family friendly resources and activities to the community such as Autism Alliance, the Girl Scouts and JCEO. The City of Plattsburgh will be hosting a table and collecting feedback on the Parks Renewal Project, which will be redesigning five of our city’s parks, and includes South Acres Park.
Make sure to join us for this final celebration of the summer in the city! The event is free, family friendly and open to the public.
