(PLATTSBURGH- Friday January 25th 2024) - The City of Plattsburgh will be hosting the third annual Tannen-Boom! winter celebration and community bonfire event at the Plattsburgh City Beach on Saturday February 24th, 2024. The event will kick off at 2:30PM and close out at 5:30PM. The Tannen-Boom brings together our community to celebrate winter in the North Country through local food, drinks, music and winter activities. This event is free and open to the public. An inclement weather date has been set for Saturday March 2, 2024.
Winter Fun for All
This year’s event will have a large walled-in tent, courtesy of Party Plus Rentals, for attendees to warm up, if needed. A beer garden (21+) hosted by Old Soul Design Studio will be serving up local brews, and free hot chocolate will be provided thanks to McDonalds. Eagle Country Radio is back for its third year to DJ the event and many local winter recreation enthusiasts like Ephemer ADK, The Strand Center for the Arts and the Plattsburgh Arts Coalition will be providing activities for kids!
Of course, there is plenty to do outside! Grab some tasty food at Tammy’s Lunchbox food truck or a hot coffee at High Peaks Brew. Weather and snow permitting, our Public Works staff are building an epic sledding hill! The City encourages residents to bring their snowshoes, cross country skis or just their snow boots and take a walk along the trails at the City Beach. Stay warm by many of the small fires until the Tannen-BOOM! is lit, shortly after the event starts.
Safety Information
Plattsburgh Police, Fire and Public Works teams will be on site to monitor the safety and security of this event. The public is advised to abide by safety protocol issued from city personnel and ensure that children are with their parents/guardians at all times.
