Margaret Street Fatal Fire

The City of Plattsburgh Police Department has been informed by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, that the cause of the double fatal fire located at 220 Margaret Street on May 22nd, is being labeled as undetermined.

Plattsburgh Police Department, Plattsburgh Fire Department and New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control have interviewed numerous people and thoroughly investigated the fire scene. It has been determined that the origin of the fire was the wooden deck in the rear of the building; however due to the extensive damage to the deck and the apartment building the specific cause cannot be determined.
